About Us

The Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska, as a body within the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Srpska, was established by the Law on the Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska”, No. 51/01), which entered into force on October 24, 2001 regulating the basis for implementation and enforcement of laws in the area of taxation of the Republic of Srpska, law and subordinate legislation, defining offenses and criminal acts and sanctions in the area of taxes.

The Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska impartially and efficiently performs collection and control of the payment of public revenues, with the consistent application of legal regulations and mutual trust between the RSTA and taxpayers and thus serves the Republic and its citizens.

The Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska is a modernly organized administration, highly professional and efficient, aimed at achieving the highest level of voluntary tax compliance, recognizable and respected by taxpayers, other institutions and the general public.

Activities

The main activities of the RS Tax Administration are control of the application of tax laws, calculation and payment of taxes, fines and interest, detection and prevention of criminal offenses, tax offenses and corruption, within its competence. The Tax Administration of RS is organized into Headquarters, Regional Centers, Local Offices and Temporary Offices.

The competences of the Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska are defined by the Tax Procedure Law of the Republic of Srpska (“Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska”, No. 102/11, 108/ 11, 67 / 13, 31/14 and 44/16). MORE

Tax Administration’s main task is to consistently, impartially, and efficiently collect public revenues thus providing service to both, the Republic of Srpska and its citizens. In accomplishing this task, Tax Administrating must steer by the following principles:

integrity, legality, impartiality, reliability

Public’s trust into integrity, legality, impartiality, and reliability of the Tax Administration is an extremely important premise in accomplishment of the task.

Historical Background

Establishment: The Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska was established at the end of 2001 pursuant to the Law on Tax Administration and is part of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Srpska. It has been operating in this form of business since January 1, 2002, when it was established by merging of the Republic Public Revenue Administration and the Financial Police of RS.
