Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska participated in the annual coordination meeting in Vienna: Results on the progress of the Fiscal Reform Program presented

On 12 and 13 June 2024, the Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska participated in the Annual Coordination Meeting (ACM 2024), organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Directorate-General of the EC for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) and Switzerland State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), within the framework of the Fiscal Reform Program in Southeast Europe (2023-2026).

The meeting is part of the Fiscal Reform Program in Southeast Europe and represents a good opportunity for representatives of institutions from the beneficiary countries of the Program to get together and discuss the progress achieved, exchange experiences and challenges and agree on future priorities in the implementation of reforms supported by the Program.

The participants of the meeting, including a representative of the Tax Administration of the Republic of Srpska, discussed the progress in the implementation of the regional program, gaining a better insight into the achievements in the implementation of reforms and priorities, but also the challenges they face, the lessons they have learned, and the next steps aimed at accelerated reforms.

Furthermore, the opportunity provided a platform for direct talks and networking of the beneficiaries of the Fiscal Reform Program in Southeast Europe, which is important for strengthening relations between all the stakeholders and assuming responsibility for the work on reform priorities.

In general, the IMF provides the assistance in capacity development to countries that are candidates for EU membership, as well as the potential candidates in the Western Balkans, in the field of public finance management, tax policy and revenue administration, as part of the mentioned regional Program funded by the EU and SECO.
